MMRDA fast tracks elevated road project

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has fast tracked the work on the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC)-Chunabhatti elevated road and it will be completed by December 2018. It may be recalled that the CM recently reviewed the projects including Metro corridors, the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link, the multi-modal corridor, Status of each metro work, progress of work & land acquisition and constraints discussed and the CM directed MMRDA officials and asked to speed up the work to give relief to Mumbai commuters. It is the speedy construction of the two Metro lines—Andheri (East) to Dahisar (East) Metro-7 and Dahisar to DN Nagar Metro-2A. MMRDA has plans to commission at least one Metro corridor among these two by 2019. The Bandra Kurla Complex-Chunabhatti Connector (four-lane, 1.7 km flyover connecting BKC to the Eastern Express Highway will be completed by December 2018.
