MMRDA fast tracks 22 km MTHL project

In order to fast track the 22 km Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) - the much delayed infra project, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has recently appointed a consortium of Aecom Asia Co. Ltd, Dar Al-Handasah and T Y Lin International as the general consultants to help the nodal agency carry out the mega project. The consultants will help the MMRDA to secure various clearances from government and semi-government agencies, examine the concept design and monitor construction of big-ticket infrastructure project. In addition, they will also engage in various activities to help the MMRDA, such as organising pre-bid meetings, examining bid documents and ensuring quality of the work, among other things, metropolitan commissioner, MMRDA, UPS Madan said, adding that the US-based Aecom, a multinational engineering firm, which specializes in designs, consulting, construction solutions and has been involved with several infrastructure projects in the US. San Francisco-based T Y Lin International specializes in the design of long-span bridges and specialty structures.
