To boost rural connectivity and economic growth in the North-East
To boost rural connectivity and economic growth in the North-East, the Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned 42 roads spanning 118.756 km under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN). The initiative involves an estimated investment of ₹114.32 crore in Tripura.

This landmark project will:
  • Provide all-weather road connectivity to 47 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) habitations.
  • Improve the socio-economic conditions of PVTGs in the state.
  • Enhance rural connectivity, linking remote villages with urban centers.
  • Foster economic development, trade, and commerce in the region.
  • Improve access to essential services like healthcare, education, and markets.
  • Create employment opportunities and stimulate local economies.
  • Align with the government's vision of a prosperous Northeast and a developed India (Viksit Bharat).
The PM-JANMAN initiative is set to have a transformative impact on Tripura, promoting growth and prosperity for Tribal Groups and reinforcing the government's commitment to inclusive development.
