India’s First Bullet Train B28 To Be Manufactured at BEML Bengaluru Facility By 2027

BulletTrain
BEML Limited will manufacture India’s first indigenous bullet train, B28, at its newly inaugurated Aditya plant in Bengaluru, marking a major milestone in the country’s high-speed rail programme. The facility was inaugurated by Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The B28 trainset, designed for speeds of up to 280 kmph, is currently under development, with the Ministry of Railways targeting its rollout by March 2027. The project involves the design, manufacturing and commissioning of two high-speed trainsets, awarded to BEML by Integral Coach Factory.

The new Aditya manufacturing complex has been specifically developed for producing B28 coaches, supporting India’s push towards indigenous high-speed rail technology. Once completed, the train will undergo extensive testing and trials before deployment.
