Maharashtra Govt Approves 18.4-km Mumbai Metro Line
Maharashtra’s Cabinet sub-committee on infrastructure has approved the 18.40-km Mumbai Metro Line 12A, which will connect Manpada-Katai Naka to Taloja via Kalyan Phata. The corridor will improve connectivity between parts of Thane and Raigad districts, including Kalyan-Dombivli and Navi Mumbai. The corridor is expected to reduce travel time by 40–50% compared with road travel.

The project is expected to improve access to industrial and logistics hubs in the region. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed officials to complete the corridor within three-and-a-half years and accelerate work on ongoing metro projects across the state.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) had submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed line to the Cabinet sub-committee for approval.
