M'rashtra clears Rs.973 cr for townships

The state government in Maharashtra recently approved the Rs.973 crore for Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) for the development of mega twin townships whereby one of them is near Jamtha while the other is near Mihan. On this score, NMRDA would sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Singapore government for development of Metro region as Singapore is known for its planned development and will advise NMRDA in carrying out modern and planned development. The authority will also appoint other consultants for Metro region. In addition, the CM has also cleared a plan for building 25,000 houses for weaker sections under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The authority will start three offices in the Metro region located in Khadka-Kirmiti township (Nagpur Rural), Hingna and Kamptee to fast track the construction of the townships.
