Maharashtra Metro Expansion
In its quest to expand the operational ambit of the metro, the state government in Maharashtra approved the detailed project report (DPR) for the 27 km Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar metro route. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already launched the first phase of the Pune metro which will run from PCMC to Swargate and Vanaz to Ramwadi, said Chief Minister, adding that the DPR for the Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar route has already been approved in a meeting of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) in Mumbai where the route will benefit people working in the IT park in Hinjewadi and adjoining areas. It may be recalled that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation had drawn up the report which has details of allocation of the channel, location of stations, and expenses, said official sources.
