LIC Housing unveils Rs.50,000 cr realty push

The LIC Housing Finance, which has recorded a total disbursement of Rs.41,541 crore in last financial year, has set an astounding target of disbursals worth Rs.50,000 crore during the current financial year, said Managing Director and CEO, Vinay Sah, elaborating that for the last (financial) year it registered a growth of over 15%. In 2016-17, the income grew by 16% with a profit worth Rs.1,931 crore. Until August, the disbursement stood at around Rs.15,000 crore till then it witnessed a growth rate of more than 17% in the retail segment. As a matter of fact, the company planned to raise Rs.55,000 crore during the current financial year in NCDs as only last month the company’s board approved a proposal to raise up to Rs.57,000 crore. The company had then said that the proposal would be through redeemable non-convertible debentures and or by other instruments, including private placement basis upon amount not exceeding the targets.
