Larsen & Toubro secures twin cross-country contracts

Larsen & Toubro Infrastructure Engineering has secured a letter of acceptance (LoA) from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) for providing detailed design consultant (DDC) for three stations, including viaducts of 164 km long Delhi–SNB (Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror) rapid rail corridor. L&T infra will provide civil, architectural and E&M works for the design of Udyog Vihar, Sector-17, Rajeev Chowk and elevated viaduct between IDPL Complex Ramp (Gurugram) to Rajiv Chowk Ramp for Delhi-SNB RRTS corridor. The 106 km long Delhi-SNB RRTS corridor will be elevated for about 71 km with 11 stations, and the remaining 35 km housing 5 stations will be built underground, mostly in Delhi and Gurugram. This corridor will connect with the RRTS line in Sarai Kale Khan and will be interoperable, facilitating commuting from one line to another without the hassle of changing trains. The Delhi-SNB Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor will add to the transport infrastructure by giving a fast, safe, comfortable and reliable mobility option to the residents of Delhi, Gurugram, Rewari, Manesar, Daruheda, Bawal, and nearby areas in Haryana. In a related development, L&T's Water & Effluent Treatment Business has secured an order from a client in the Sultanate of Oman for the design and execution of a water infrastructure project to enhance the Al Dhakhlia Water Transmission System, Phase - II. This is a repeat order and has been secured under international competitive bidding. The scope of work includes 173 km of pipelines for water transmission with associated civil works, 18 RCC water storage reservoirs, five pumping stations with associated Mechanical, Electrical, Control and Instrumentation works, said an official spokesperson.
