KEC International lowest bidder for metro contract

KEC International has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for Phase IV of the metro rail project of the DMRC for which KEC International quoted ₹1,080 crore as against the estimated value of ₹1,030 crore. This is the second high-value civil contract that has been secured by KEC from DMRC; it had earlier secured an order of ₹955 crore for DC-01 of the same phase of the project. Scope of work in the current contract includes design and construction of elevated viaduct and bridge across the river Yamuna. The contract also relates to an integrated elevated viaduct with PWD flyover at the lower deck and metro line at the upper deck from Yamuna Vihar to Bhajanpura and 8 elevated stations in Yamuna Vihar, Bhajanpura, Khajuri Khas, Sonia Vihar, Soorghat, Jagatpur Village, Jharoda and Burari. It also includes construction of entry and exit structures at the stations. Prior to this, KEC had also secured a civil contract from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation for ₹580 crore and the Kochi Metro Rail for ₹265 crore.
