IRSDC Multi Modal Hub
In order to provide world-class facilities in the rail sector, the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) is all set to start the construction work for a modern railway station complex with Multi Modal Transport Hub (MMTH). In this connection, a joint venture company of Ircon International Limited and Rail Land Development Authority planned to give the contract at an investment of Rs. 5,000cr. IRSDC has already held discussions with China's Wanda Group for the redevelopment of Surat and Gandhinagar railway stations. The group is reportedly China's largest commercial property company and world's largest cinema chain operator. Recently, the group concluded a contract of $10 billion for building 'Wanda industrial new city' in Haryana. For the first time in Surat city, five iconic 61 floor towers would be developed under this project on 2.64 lakh square meter of land belonging to Indian Railways, GSRTC, and SMC for which 100% FDI would be allowed to complete the mega project.
