The Uttarakhand government
The Uttarakhand government aims to develop five to seven new cities, commencing with a greenfield city project on a 2,000-acre site in Kichha, Udham Singh Nagar. This strategic move is geared towards driving economic growth and creating employment opportunities.

The proposed greenfield city in Kichha will be strategically located on State Highway-74, just 15km from Rudrapur, and connected to the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor. Additionally, plans include a knowledge park spanning 200 to 250 acres in the vicinity.

With an estimated private investment of around Rs 7,000 crore, the development is anticipated to generate employment for 50,000 individuals and offer housing for approximately two lakh residents. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has requested funds from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support the greenfield city's development in Kichha.

In further developments, the Union health ministry has approved a budget of Rs 700 crore for the construction of an AIIMS satellite center on a 100-acre plot in Kichha. This, combined with the Rs 1,000 crore greenfield city project, positions Kichha as a significant city in the state and the country.
