West Bengal CM lays foundation stone for Rs 4,000 crore 1.2 MTPA integrated steel plant in Purulia
The integrated steel plant will have an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tonnes and is scheduled to commence commercial operations by 2029.
The facility will include a pellet plant, direct reduced iron (DRI) unit, rolling mill, submerged electric arc furnace (SEAF), forging unit, brick manufacturing unit and a 145 MW captive power plant. The company said the project will incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainable infrastructure.
According to Amit Metaliks, the investment will expand its manufacturing capabilities, boost industrial activity in Purulia and create significant employment opportunities in the region.
Amit Metaliks is the flagship company of the Amit Alliance Group, which has annual revenues of around Rs 2,000 crore and operates across the steel, mining and infrastructure sectors.
