States urged for faster completion of projects older than 3 yrs
Emphasizing the pivotal role of the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) in transforming the rural economy, the government has urged state governments to ensure the faster completion of projects older than 3 years. Dr. Vivek Joshi, Secretary of the Department of Financial Services in the Ministry of Finance, chaired a stakeholders meeting on RIDF, alongside Dr. M. P. Tangirala, Additional Secretary of DFS and Chairman of NABARD. The meeting also included the Managing Director of the National Housing Board (NHB), Finance Secretaries, and other senior officers from state and union territory (UT) governments. Dr. Joshi advised NABARD to review the guidelines and processes related to RIDF to expedite project implementations and make RIDF more aligned with the needs of the states.
