Of the 43 projects, 10, valued at Rs 2,827.11 crore, have been inaugurated, while foundation stones have been laid for the remaining 33 projects, estimated to cost Rs 6,114.11 crore. The initiatives are expected to benefit around 1.5 crore people across Delhi.
The projects cover water and sewage treatment plants, sewer networks, household sewer connections, pumping stations and drainage infrastructure. They are intended to strengthen the city's water supply system, extend sewerage services to unauthorised colonies and villages, and increase sewage treatment capacity.
The initiatives also aim to promote the reuse of treated wastewater, reduce the discharge of untreated sewage into the Yamuna and improve wastewater management across the national capital.
The projects form part of efforts to strengthen Delhi's water and sanitation infrastructure while addressing gaps in sewerage coverage and reducing pollution in the river.
