PM launches ₹6,800-cr infra projects in NE

The Prime Minister of India has launched projects worth ₹6,800 crore in the states of Meghalaya, Tripura, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh. The projects cover a range of sectors, including housing, road construction, agriculture, telecom, IT, tourism, and hospitality. In Agartala, the Prime Minister launched the "Grih Pravesh" program for over 200,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban and Rural - schemes. He also laid the foundation stones for multiple projects worth over ₹2,450 crore in the state. In Tripura, he launched projects worth over ₹4,350 crore, including the construction of 32 roads with a length of over 230 km under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY III) and the improvement of 112 roads covering over 540 km. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the new campus of IIM Shillong and participated in the golden jubilee celebration of the North Eastern Council (NEC) in Shillong.
