G20 Declaration boosts urban infra & new smart cities
With the G20 New Delhi Leader’s Declaration emphasising the need to make the future cities inclusive, resilient, and sustainable, India’s plan to decongest its large cities by creating hundreds of new smart cities will receive a significant boost. The declaration has endorsed the G20 Principles for Financing Cities of Tomorrow and also supported the G20/OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) report on Financing Cities of Tomorrow. This report not only provides a financing strategy but also presents several urban planning and financing models. These principles are, of course, voluntary and non-binding in nature.
