ESR Group plans Rs. 400-cr Logistics Park in Gujarat
ESR Group, a leading logistics real estate developer, has announced its plans to build a 1-million-sq-ft warehousing logistics park in Sanand, Gujarat with an investment of Rs.400 crore. This project aims to cater to the emerging demand for ancillary units that supply to electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers. The company has already acquired a 38-acre land parcel for its second investment in the state, the first being a 37-acre project in Jalisana. The Jalisana project's infrastructure is complete, while the Sanand project is expected to be completed within the next couple of years.
Gujarat is currently attracting a high amount of foreign direct investment and is turning into an electric vehicle battery manufacturing and assembly center. The availability of grade A infrastructure in a strategic location like Sanand is crucial for the region's industrial growth, said CEO of ESR India, Abhijit Malkani. The project will provide a focused space for established and emerging EV manufacturing and ancillary units to expand their presence in Ahmedabad and benefit from the thriving ecosystem.
The proposed project has port connectivity, allowing for the import and export of components. It has access to Kandla port, India's largest container port, and is well connected to Mundra, Dahej, Jafrabad, Pipavav, Hazira ports, and Ahmedabad's international airport, Vadodara international airport, and national and state highway networks. Furthermore, upcoming infrastructure development such as the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) will enhance Sanand's connectivity and reduce logistics costs.
The project will add to the EV manufacturing capacity of the region and benefit the local economy by providing job opportunities and promoting local production.
