CICEE 2023 Spring Symposium held in Beijing

The Organizing Committee of the Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition (CICEE) held a Spring Symposium in Beijing. Representatives and experts from various national business associations, such as the China Construction Industry Association, China Civil Engineering Society, and China Construction Enterprise Management Association, participated in the symposium. The Secretary-General of the China Society of Construction Machinery, Zhou Xianbiao, briefly introduced the achievements of the 2021 CICEE and the preparations for the 2023 CICEE. The support from national business associations and experts for the CICEE was appreciated and further anticipated. Zhou Xianbiao also expressed New Year wishes to members and experts from all business associations on behalf of the organizing committee.

About 2021 CICEE, Zhou Xianbiao mentioned adverse impact of the corona virus that 2021 CICEE faced and overcame, and great success achieved, with an exhibition area of 300,000 square meters which made CICEE become the largest exhibition in the international construction machinery industry in 2021. Caterpillar, Sany Heavy Industry, Zoomlion and other top 50 companies in the world's construction machinery participated in the exhibition. Liugong and other companies also launched a series of new products at the exhibition. Phoenix Satellite TV and many other domestic and foreign media reported the exhibition in detail. The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronics organized more than 30 ambassadors and commercial counselors from foreign embassies in Beijing to visit the exhibition, and held the "Belt and Road" international summit; the "National Asphalt Pavement Conference" held by the China Highway Society attracted more than 600 people. Contractors all over the country participated in the conference, and visited the exhibition to purchase construction machinery. Bring tangible benefits to many exhibitors; The technology summit forum held by the China Society of Construction Machinery led the healthy development of the industry; the National Construction Machinery Leasing Conference held by the National Leasing Alliance had more than 1,000 on site participants and more than 20,000 companies participating online, which created a Guinness record; China Construction Industry Association, China Construction Enterprise Management Association, China International Contractors Association, China Chemical Construction Enterprises Association all held different meetings and activities at the exhibition.

About 2023 CICEE, Zhou Xianbiao said, with the new covid strategy implement in China, China is officially open to the world since January 8, which will promote China's foreign exchanges and cooperation. This is undoubtedly a great benefit to the 2023 CICEE. The 2023 Changsha Exhibition will have five upgrades based on the achievements already made, 1. The quality of the exhibition will be improved, 2. The theme of the event will be more precise, 3. The exhibition will be more internationalized, 4. The exhibition form will be more abundant, 5. The exhibition service will be more professional.

The theme of the event will still be "Intelligent New Generation Construction Machinery", 30 international forums and 100 business summits will cover all topics including the intelligent, digital, unmanned, electrified, green, international, and new products, new technologies, new ideas, and new applications. So far, most business associations have completed their event planning for the 2023 CICEE.

The "Golden Gear Award" selection plan for innovative products and technologies organized by the CICEE organizing committee has been initialized. Experts from the CICEE organizing committee and business associations present in 2023 Beijing Spring Symposium are invited to make recommendations of excellent exhibiting products and technologies.

In terms of internationalization, it is expected that nearly 20 international organizations will actively support and participate in CICEE. The 17th China-Japan-Korea Crane Safety Forum will attract hundreds of experts and guests from South Korea and Japan. The South American partner plans to organize a delegation with about 500 people and hold the China-Latin America Construction Technology and Cooperation Forum; the Indian partner also plans to organize a 100-person delegation and hold the China-India Construction Technology and Cooperation Forum; The CICEE Committee will jointly hold the China-ASEAN Infrastructure Construction Forum under the framework of "RCEP". Some large multinational companies are preparing to hold their annual meetings on the platform of CICEE. At that time, a large number of industry professionals from all over the world will gather in Changsha Exhibition.

In terms of international promotion, the CICEE organizing committee will continue to invite dozens of international professional media to visit and report on 2023 CICEE.

When talking about the significance of the exhibition, Zhou Xianbiao informed that China is a big construction machinery manufacturing country in the world, and it is also the largest construction machinery market in the world. There are 10 Chinese companies listed in the world's top 50 construction machinery companies, of which 3 companies of Xugong Group, Sany Heavy Industry, and Zoomlion are among the world's top 10. Chinese construction machinery enterprises continuously enhance their innovation level and created many world records, which is the basis of a successful CICEE in 2023.

At the symposium, Wang Ying, Director of the Marketing Department of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronics, introduced the basic situation of the Chamber of Commerce and the achievements of the activities held at previous CICEEs. He said that the activities held by the China Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronics at CICEE 2023 will be more profound.

Fu Wenjing, deputy secretary-general of China Chemical Construction Enterprises Association, introduced the basic situation of the association and the cooperation with CICEE. She said that at the 2023 CICEE, six associations including China Chemical Construction Enterprises Association, China Petroleum Engineering Construction Association, China Electric Power Construction Enterprises Association and China Metallurgical Construction Association will hold the "10th National Engineering Construction Hoisting Industry Development Forum". There will be more than 100 hoisting industry companies and more than 300 representatives attending the conference.

Bao Xuesong, director of the academic department of the China Civil Engineering Society, introduced the basic situation of the society. She said that the leadership of the society attaches great importance to the platform of the CICEE and will hold a large seminar on topic of construction industrialization at the fair.

Huang Yi, an expert of the CICEE organizing committee and assistant director of China Communications Corporation, pointed out that in 2022, China Communications Corporation achieved good business performance. Construction enterprises and construction equipment enterprises cooperated and promoted each other. The rapid development of China's construction machinery industry has greatly facilitated the development of construction companies in China Communications Corporation. China's construction machinery industry should also increase international exchanges and cooperation on the excellent communication platform of CICEE.

Cai Qiguang, an expert of the CICEE organizing committee and former deputy general manager of Power China Leasing Co., Ltd., mentioned that China is already the largest manufacturing country and largest market for construction machinery in the world. CICEE will become one of the most influential construction machinery exhibitions in the world.

Hu Shengli, chief representative of Herrenknecht in China, said that Herrenknecht products have unique advantages in large-scale and special geological conditions. The company will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese users and actively participate in the CICEE.

Lin Yanhong, secretary-general of the Supply Chain Committee of the China International Contractors Association, pointed out that the Chamber of Commerce held two overseas construction forums on the platform of the CICEE, which were beneficial for enterprises. We hope to have more in-depth cooperation with CICEE to help contractors solve problems such as procurement of equipment and materials, after-sales and equipment disposal etc.
