India Launches Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme to Boost Clean Energy Goals

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi, has launched the Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India (GHCI), marking a major step toward establishing a transparent and credible framework for certifying green hydrogen production.

The Minister underscored the scheme's importance in ensuring traceability and market confidence, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to innovation-driven growth. He also highlighted the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving India’s energy transition, stating they will be instrumental in achieving the target of a self-reliant green hydrogen ecosystem by 2030 through their innovation and localized solutions.
