India has injected ₹193.16 crore for the construction of Kalewa-Yagyi road section and bridges on the India-Myanmar-Thailand trilateral highway, Union transport minister of state Mansukh L Mandaviya, said. The 1,360 km India-Myanmar-Thailand trilateral highway is an initiative of the three countries in which India is undertaking construction of two sections of the trilateral highway in Myanmar, that entails construction of 120.74 km Kalewa-Yagyi road section and 69 bridges with an approach road on the 149.70 km Tamu-Kyigone-Kalewa (TKK) road section. The funds are a part of the ₹1,459.29 crore approved for the Kalewa-Yagyi road section of which the total cleared amount of ₹371.58 crore is for construction of 69 bridges along the highway, informed Mandaviya.
