IL&FS secures Rs. 371-cr metro contract

Adding to its project portfolio in the country’s rail and metro sector, IL&FS Transportation Networks in a joint venture with PJSC Kyivmetrobud is all set to bag the Chennai metro contract as the company turned out to be the lowest bidder quoting Rs. 371.218 crore for the contract in question.

The joint venture, which has been formed in a 70:30 ratio, had submitted bids with the Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) on item rate basis for design validation and construction of works of underground station (excluding station diaphragm walls). In addition, the scope of work also included the associated structures at concourse, platform level, entry and exit, ancillary building, pump house, water tanks, ventilation shafts, plumbing and earth mat, among other works, said an official spokesperson.
