Hindustan Power (HPL) has won a contract from SJVN for developing a 100 MW solar project integrated with a 200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project, connected to the inter-state transmission system (ISTS), was awarded through tariff-based competitive bidding followed by an e-reverse auction.
This project is part of a larger 1,200 MW solar PV initiative, which includes 600 MW/2,400 MWh of energy storage to be developed across India. The initiative is aimed at ensuring round-the-clock reliable power, especially during peak demand and periods of low solar generation.
