Haryana fast tracks MRTS expansion

Mass Rapid Transit System in Haryana
In its unfailing quest to provide rapid transport facilities to the masses in the NCR, the state government in Haryana has transferred 147 acres of land to the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) for the development of a Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) connecting Gurgaon directly with Bawal industrial cluster located on NH-8 in Rewari district by building an elevated metro project. The corridor will run along the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) and Global City project, for which the land will be utilized to develop a communication and transport zone. As a matter of fact, more land is needed to lay tracks and that will be acquired along the route by HSIIDC, said official sources. In the first phase, the metro corridor will connect Huda City Centre Metro station to Panchgaon Chowk through SPR and Global City. In phase 2, it will stretch up to Bawal from Panchgaon along the national highway.
