Adding to its portfolio in the hospitality sector, GRT Hotels & Resorts plans to invest ₹900 crore to open nine new hotels in the downstream South India. The group, which has 16 hotels for business and leisure travelers in South India, recently opened its 16th hotel, the Radisson at Bengaluru City Center, a boutique lifestyle hotel offering 90 rooms, with an investment of ₹80 crore. In Karnataka, the company has decided to open leisure resorts in Kabini and Coorg and also plans are afoot for building new hotels in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in Kerala. Its hotel and resort brands include Grand (upscale business hotel) Radisson Blu (5-star boutique hotel and resort), Great Trails (nature resorts), Regency (mid-segment business hotel) and Zibe (select service hotel) spreading across 14 cities in the South. The targeted investment will come from internal accruals and 25% from debt. He further added that A Great Trails nature resort in Wayanad, Kerala, is scheduled to be ready in the third quarter of 2019 and also large convention hotel in Hyderabad is scheduled for opening in 2020, Chief Operating Officer, Vikram Cotah said
