The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has recently intensified the construction of road restoration works worth ₹781 crore. The works being taken up included the construction of ₹424 crore of road upgrades and the projects will be completed in the next two months. The total works worth ₹381 crore are BT roads and the rest are CC roads, which entailed ₹311 crore investments. Similarly, among the other ₹303 crore CC roads of which projects worth ₹113 crore are currently under construction. Tenders for works worth ₹147 crore have been finalized and the road building work will commence shortly. Though the municipal corporation is prepared to expedite other works and complete them at the earliest, the delay in issuing no objection certificates from the water board and other civic departments have kept these projects up till now in limbo, said an official spokesperson.
