L&T wins ₹1,723 cr construction contracts

Adding to its project portfolio in the construction segment, the construction arm of Larsen and Toubro has recently won orders worth ₹1,723 crore across various business segments, said official sources, claiming that its wholly owned Power Transmission & Distribution business wing has bagged multiple contracts on EPC model. In India, an order has been secured for the construction of 220kV and 132kV Transmission Lines and Substations in Madhya Pradesh on a total turnkey basis under the Green Energy Corridor projects. Another major order has been won for the establishment of a 400/230kV Gas Insulated Substation in Tamil Nadu and also received an order for urban electrification and sub-transmission works in Jammu and additional orders from ongoing power distribution jobs. In the offshore arena, it has won an order in the Kingdom of Morocco for the construction of 400kV and 225kV Transmission Lines to evacuate power from the Midelt solar power station. The business has bagged another order from Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company for the construction of a 220kV overhead transmission line from Toshka in Egypt. This will form a crucial link in the Egypt-Sudan electricity interconnection project.
