Govt unveils investment enclave for Swedish infra investors

infra project
The Union government has proposed to set up an exclusive investment enclave for Swedish investors in India to help create an enabling ecosystem for Swedish companies in the country. The Union Railway Minister informed that discussions in this regard were held during his meeting with Swedish Minister for Foreign Trade Anna Hallberg at the 19th Indo-Swedish Joint Commission for Economic, Industrial and Scientific Cooperation. India showcased the opportunities in the country under different industries such as roads, railways, highways, renewable energy, housing, smart cities and healthcare. The proposal to establish an Investment Enclave with ready plug and play infrastructure has been well received by the Swedish side. Both the countries agreed for greater cooperation in start-up ecosystems. The Investment Enclave would complement the Investment Facilitation Mechanism implemented through Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Invest India in coordination with the Embassy of Sweden.
