Govt. launches multi-model terminal

Varanasi Multi modal Terminal
The Prime Minister recently laid the foundation stone for a multi-modal terminal on the river Ganga at Sahibganj in Jharkhand, which is an important component of the proposed 1,100-km long national waterway between Varanasi and Haldia. The project is a part of the development of the National Waterway-1 from Varanasi to Haldia with cargo handling capacity of 2.24 million tons per annum. The project will lead to the creation of business and employment opportunities both in urban and rural areas of the state, besides linking Bihar directly with Jharkhand. Apart from this, the PM also inaugurated Govindpur-Jamtara-Dumka-Sahibganj Highway and laid the foundation stone for setting up of a solar power facility in the court premises and hospital in the Sahibganj district.
