The Union government has given its nod to the Rs.400 crore four-lane road starting from Beypore to Malapparamba in Kerala. The mega project is one of the 57 projects, which has been cleared under the Bharatmala scheme and is expected to be a boost for the development of North Kerala region, said official sources that the 18.4-kilometre long road will also have a 2.9 km-long flyover. It will pass through Beypore Port, Gotheeshwaram Beach, Marad, Payyanakkal and Kothi South Beach. The flyover will start from Kozhikode Beach and reach Eranhipalam, providing an active link between Beypore Port and the National Highway for which the construction work will start shortly after the detailed project report is ready.
