Government to Develop 'Plug and Play' Industrial Parks in 100 Cities
The government has announced plans to develop 'plug and play' industrial parks in or near 100 cities, in partnership with states and the private sector, to boost manufacturing. During her Budget Speech on July 23, 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that these parks would be developed using improved town planning schemes. The initiative aims to attract investments, create jobs, and stimulate economic activity. These industrial parks, sanctioned under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, will provide quality, reliable, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure, facilitating a robust manufacturing environment across the country.
