GCC infra project
Ensuring smooth flow of vehicular traffic within its jurisdiction, the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) in a latest move has decided to build the longest flyover in the city at an investment of Rs. 1,736 crore. The mega project will be extended from Kilpauk (near Ega junction) to Valluvarkottam and the project currently awaits ‘go ahead’ signal from the state administration. The 7.5-km elevated structure will connect important junctions in Nungambakkam, Chetpet and Valluvarkottam. It may be recalled that though the project was proposed two years ago, the detailed project report (DPR) was cleared recently, said a senior civic body official.
