Jandt Kranvermietung Expands Fleet with Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1 Crane
The six-axle mobile crane is the first machine of its kind in Jandt's fleet and is expected to open up new applications across industrial projects, infrastructure, energy transition projects and overhead line construction.
The family-run company said the investment supports its growth strategy while responding to increasing demand for higher lifting capacities. Jandt's existing fleet includes two Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes and two MK 140-5.1 mobile construction cranes, among other equipment.
Jens Lübeck, Managing Director of Jandt Kranvermietung, said the move into a larger crane class reflects the company's business development and changing market requirements.
He said increasing load requirements had pushed the company's existing fleet to its limits on some projects, requiring collaboration with partner companies to meet customer requirements. The LTM 1400-6.1 will allow Jandt to handle larger and more demanding lifting projects independently while expanding its range of services.
Compact 6-axle crane with high lifting capacity
The LTM 1400-6.1 is Jandt’s first 6-axle mobile crane. For the company, the decisive factors in favour of the investment were, in particular, the compact dimensions in this lifting class, the high load capacity and the self-assembly of the Y-guying system. Liebherr has designed the telescopic guying system of the LTM 1400-6.1 in such a way that safety during crane assembly is significantly enhanced. The reduced number of assembly steps means less work at height. In addition, safe access routes and platforms, simplified assembly and the automatic Liebherr LIKUFIX coupling system all contribute to the safety of the operating personnel. “We are very pleased with the system featuring the quick-release couplings, which significantly reduce set-up times. With the LTM 1400-6.1, we can carry out operations involving heavy loads more flexibly and with shorter lead times,” reports Sven Diercks, who is responsible for technical matters on the Jandt board of directors.New possibilities for challenging projects
With the new LTM 1400-6.1, Jandt will in future be able to undertake projects for which cranes of this size class previously had to be hired. “As we are already active in a wide range of sectors and have had to hire in a number of cranes in this size class in the past, we are particularly looking forward to the new areas of application,” says Lübeck. “We see these primarily in industry, in a wide variety of infrastructure projects, in projects relating to the energy transition, and in overhead line construction, where we have also been active for several years.”Long-standing partnership with Liebherr
The decision to choose Liebherr was based on several factors. “Liebherr’s innovative strength, our long-standing partnership and the high standard of service have once again convinced us to purchase a Liebherr product,” explains Lübeck. “The extremely cost-effective operation of Liebherr machinery was another key factor in our decision.”Jandt Kranvermietung GmbH is a family-run business that traces its roots back to 1950, when it began with haulage and excavation work. Since its re-establishment in 1998, the company has been run by the second generation, whilst the third generation is already waiting in the wings. Over the course of 75 years, Jandt has developed into a specialist in all types of crane work. Today, the focus is on mobile cranes, with a total of 18 mobile cranes, supplemented by four loading cranes. Another key area for the company is mobile construction cranes. The fleet includes four mobile construction cranes: two MK 140-5.1 and two MK 88-4.1 models from Liebherr. Jandt’s expertise in this area lies particularly in supporting industrial and hall construction.
