Through steam compression and industrial heat pump solutions, Atlas Copco is strengthening its portfolio and expanding its ability to address broader process efficiency requirements. By recovering low-pressure steam and waste heat and converting it into useful process energy, these solutions help customers improve energy utilisation, reduce dependence on conventional steam generation and advance sustainability goals. This further strengthens Atlas Copco’s position as an integrated industrial solutions provider addressing evolving energy and efficiency needs across industries.
At Boiler India 2026, Atlas Copco is showcasing its EC oil-free VSD steam compressor and industrial heat-pump technology. The EC steam compressor is designed to compress low-pressure steam to a higher, useful pressure for reuse in industrial processes. It combines oil-free screw compression, Variable Speed Drive (VSD), dedicated steam sealing and integrated controls for precise regulation of steam pressure and superheat. The compressor delivers 100% oil-free steam and offers a pressure ratio of up to 6 per stage.
Speaking on the participation, Bhavin Pandya, General Manager, Compressor Technique Customer Center, Atlas Copco (India) Pvt. Ltd., said, “Industrial energy efficiency is increasingly about making better use of the energy already available within a plant. Low-pressure steam and waste heat can be recovered, upgraded and reused for productive applications. At Atlas Copco, we are extending our compression expertise across air, steam and heat to help industries optimise their utility systems. Boiler India 2026 provides an opportunity to demonstrate how these technologies can support more efficient and sustainable industrial operations.”
When applied as an open-loop heat-pump solution, Atlas Copco’s steam compression technology can achieve a higher Coefficient of Performance (COP), depending on operating conditions. The solutions are relevant across industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, pulp and paper, distilleries, and general manufacturing, where continuous thermal demand and recoverable heat often coexist.
Backed by more than 150 years of heritage and over six decades of operations in India, Atlas Copco combines global compression expertise with local application engineering and lifecycle support to help industries improve productivity, reliability and energy efficiency.
