Eighteen infra builders vie for ₹15,000-cr e-way in UP
Major players such as KNR (JV), GR Infra Projects, Afcons Infrastructure, Apco Infratech, HG Infra Project, JMC Projects India, PNC Infratech, Dilip Buildcon, Ashoka Buildcon. L&T and Megha Engineering are among the 18 bidders for the ₹15,000 crore Bundelkhand Expressway project in Uttar Pradesh, which commands a length of 296-km. The ambitious project of the state government is to be developed in six different packages for speedier completion, said CEO, UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), Awanish Awasthi. He informed that 82 separate bids had been received for the six packages from bidders, with 10 of them bidding for all packages. While the technical bids have already been opened, the financial bids are likely to be opened shortly. The UP government plans to complete Bundelkhand Expressway before 2022 and will link the arid zone with mainland UP and usher in faster socio-economic development in its backwaters. While ₹7,000 crore would be raised via bank loans, the remaining funds would be provided by the state government from its own resources, while Bank of Baroda has already cleared ₹2,000-crore for the expressway.
