DPR for Tiruchi Semi Ring Road Project Nearing Completion

NHAI

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is expected to complete the detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed semi ring road around Tiruchi within the next three months. The project aims to connect five major national highways encircling the city to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity.

A key feature includes a 3-km-long elevated corridor near the newly inaugurated integrated bus stand at Panjapur, located off the Tiruchi-Madurai Highway. This corridor will help divert through-traffic away from the bus stand, facilitating smoother flow toward other cities.

Other components include widening the existing two-lane bypass between Thuvakudi and Panjapur into a four-lane road, building a four-lane stretch between Panjapur and Jeeyapuram on the Tiruchi-Karur Highway, and constructing service roads around Panjapur to streamline bus movements.
