Doka Becomes 1st in Its Industry to Join Science-Based Targets Initiative
Doka, a global leader in formwork and scaffolding, has become the first company in its sector to commit to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This commitment aligns Doka’s emission reduction goals with the latest scientific guidance to help limit global warming to 1.5°C.
The construction industry, responsible for around 37% of global greenhouse gas emissions, faces growing pressure to adopt sustainable practices due to regulatory demands and environmental challenges. Doka sees this as an opportunity to not only meet its environmental responsibilities but also to foster resilient and sustainable business models, ensuring long-term success in an evolving market.
The commitment to the SBTi is a cornerstone of Doka’s comprehensive "Net Zero 2040" sustainability strategy. “The transition to net zero is a complex challenge that requires both ambition and resilience. By committing to the SBTi, we are demonstrating that sustainability is not just a buzzword for us – it’s serious business,” says Robert Hauser, CEO of Doka. “We believe that sustainable practices and solutions are the key to helping our customers thrive in a futureproof, competitive construction industry.”
