The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's (DMRC) first metro line Red Line from Shahdara to Tis Hazari will be renovating all the 21 stations on the line between Rithala and Dilshad Garden. The newly opened section between Dilshad Garden and Shaheed Sthal will not be a part of the renovation drive as the renovation work will begin with Dilshad garden, Jhilmil and Mansarovar stations and the entire exercise is destined to be completed by March 2020. The remaining 18 stations will be taken up in phases and only a few hours would be available for carrying out the renovation in an operational corridor. DMRC will start the process by rectifying the water seepage problems on the tracks by replacing expansion joints and removing cable troughs. The exteriors of the stations will be renovated by applying a new color theme, said official sources.
