DMRC fast tracks Rs.2,210-cr corridor

Dilshad Garden New Bus Stand Metro Corridor
In order to commission the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Stand Metro corridor in Ghaziabad on the outskirts of Delhi-NCR, within the stipulated timelines, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has fast tracked the project entailing an investment of Rs. 2,210cr. Out of the total project cost, Rs. 900-cr has been received while Rs. 1,310-cr is still pending. GDA has paid Rs. 590cr, Avas Vikas Parishad Rs. 50cr, and UPSIDC Rs. 3.3cr. The deadline for line project covering 9.41km has been extended by a year to June 2018. Announcing the new deadline, DMRC Managing Director, Mangu Singh said that the construction work is in full swing with the project and June 2017 was an impossible deadline. However, GDA vice-chairman, Vijay Kumar Yadav said that the project would be completed as quickly as possible.
