Delhi-Jhajjar metro line on the anvil

DMRC
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has fast tracked its initiative to build a metro line connecting Jhajjar campus of AIIMS in Haryana with the national capital passing through Gurgaon. The new route will start from Dwarka Sector 21 metro station and pass through Dwarka Expressway to reach Badsa in Jhajjar. The Jhajjar campus of AIIMS will house India's largest cancer institute — the National Cancer Institute — and metro connectivity is expected to ease movement of patients. Recently, the first field inspection was conducted to identify route alignment of the project. The Haryana government along with DMRC will conduct traffic and technical feasibility surveys before preparing the DPR. The cost of the project is expected to be shared by the state and Union governments and it may take a while to start construction work on the mega project.
