Indian Railways has recently given its approval to Metrolink Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA) to begin work on the North-South corridor, connecting APMC Vasna to Motera and also along the Shahpur-Thaltej East-West corridor, said official sources, adding that the work on the underground stretch - from Shahpur to Apparel Park in Maninagar - will also start very shortly and the work on the stretch from Apparel Park to Vastral has already begun. Around 600 metres of this 6-km stretch is complete, Managing Director of MEGA, I P Gautam, said elaborating that the 600-metre stretch, near Nirant Crossroads is complete and tracks will now be laid on war footing.
