In its quest to build top-class infrastructure matching global standards, the State Cabinet in Karnataka in a recent move has cleared a staggering sum worth Rs. 7,300-cr under the action plan of Nagarothana scheme and the planned infra development will be achieved in the next two years. The works include those related to building and development of roads, drains, railway level crossings, and lake development. Clearance for all these works that would be worth over Rs. 10cr, would required to be taken from a high-level committee constituted by the government so that the State government could reduce the size of the action plan to Rs. 6,050cr.
