Decks cleared for Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion

Hyderabad Metro Rail
Decks for the extension of the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) upto Begumpet on the Nagole-Mettuguda stretch have been cleared with the South Central Railway (SCR) authorities agreeing for a Road Overbridge at Oliphanta in Secunderabad and legal hurdle hampering the project has also been cleared, HMR authorities said, adding that the demolition of the Padmahamsa apartments was completed after winning a four-year-old legal battle and compensation paid to the owners of 24 flats and 12 shops in the apartments. The apartments adjacent to Iskcon Temple in Secunderabad which held up a 300 meter stretch between Sangeet junction to St. Ann's School, has been a major hurdle for the metro rail project. Also, the contentious issue of payment of 'traffic block charges' to the railways is also being amicably sorted out and metro RoB construction works are also set to start shortly.
