Civil Aviation Secretary Reviews Chennai Airport T2 Phase II, Directs Speedy Completion

Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Samir Kumar Sinha, chaired a review meeting to assess progress on the New Integrated Terminal Building (T2 Phase II) at Chennai International Airport. During the meeting, he emphasized that projects of national importance must not face delays and directed the Airports Authority of India (AAI), L&T and the Project Management Consultant (PMC) to resolve all pending issues on priority.

The T2 Phase II expansion spans 86,135 sq m and is being developed to enhance passenger handling capacity to 35 million passengers per annum. The upgraded terminal aims to improve overall travel experience through smoother passenger movement, better accessibility and the ability to meet rising air traffic demand in the region.
