Chhattisgarh plans Rs. 21,576-cr projects

Launching multiple infrastructure projects across the state, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Raman Singh recently announced works of Rs. 21,576cr. The projects would be carried out by the state PWD in the next 18 months. A total of 5,894 kilometers of roads will be laid, 223 buildings will be constructed and 144 bridges and railway overhead bridges will be constructed during this period. The CM directed the senior officials to complete all the projects in a time-bound manner maintaining high-quality standards of works. The aim is to lay 1,526 kilometers of State Highway roads of Rs. 10,171-cr by March 2018. 28 developmental works relating to the roads have also been sanctioned. 18 developmental works relating to laying of roads of Rs. 1,965-cr with the financial aid of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are in the pipeline, said an official spokesperson.
