CGRDC sharpens ₹313 cr expressway plans

The Chhattisgarh Road Development Corporation (CGRDC) has started the construction of Fafadih-Telibandha-Naya Raipur four-lane expressway on the land of meter guage railway track in the city, PWD Minister Rajesh Munat said, reiterating that the project entailed a total investment of ₹313 crore. The 12-kms long expressway would have four flyovers and administrative sanctions for all these have already been secured and the construction work will start shortly. The construction work of flyover at Devendra Nagar, Pandri and Shankar Nagar is expected to be completed soon and an elevated corridor is also being constructed at Avanti Vihar and Telibandha which is expected to be completed in the latter half of this year. The Fafadih-Telibandha-Naya Raipur Expressway would have a 7 km long service road and that the expressway would have eight small bridges and 12 culverts. Notably, the Central Government in April this year had also approved road development and expansion projects worth over ₹3,000 crores in Chhattisgarh. The sanction was given at a significant meeting between Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari.
