Odisha clears ₹3,540 cr infra projects

The Odisha government has recently sanctioned as many as 11 projects of about ₹3,540 crore from the Mineral Bearing Area Development Corporation (OMBADC) for nine minerals-bearing districts, Chief Secretary AP Padhi approved the projects while presiding over the Board of Directors meet recently. Among others, the Board sanctioned a flyover road near Joda town for curtailing the dust and pollution in the town. The project is estimated to come up at ₹229.71 crore in three years. The Housing and Urban Development department tasked to take up appropriate projects for improving the quality of living in Joda and Badbil towns. The newly sanctioned projects include mega pipe water supply projects for rural areas in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput and Jajpur district, drinking water supply project for urban centers in Mayurbhanj and Koraput, livelihood promotion activities in nine districts namely Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada and Sundargarh districts have been brought under the ambit of OMBDAC fund, he claimed.
