Centre recently launched half a dozen highway and infrastructure projects worth ₹5,300 crore in Uttar Pradesh including the improvement of "84 Kosi Parikrama Marg" and also the Ram Van Gaman Marg, said state government in a statement, claiming that two projects have religious significance, particularly for pilgrims who visit Ayodhay the holy city in the state. The transport minister has laid the foundation stones for all the projects in the presence of state chief minister. The construction work on all these projects is kick starting very shortly. According to highway ministry sources, in the first phase, about 91 km of the 84 Kosi Parikrama Marg (250 km) will be expanded to four lanes as the stretch has already been granted national highway status. Similarly, another significant project is the construction of around 48 km of road stretch of Ayodhya-Chitrakoot of the Ram Van Gaman Marg. According to epic, after their marriage, Lord Ram and Sita took this route from Janakpur in Nepal to Ayodhya in India.
