Centre clears Rs.567.39 cr for NE

Border Area Development
The government sources said that the Finance ministry has recently released Rs.567.39 crore to take up the road and rail network right up to the border areas in the North Eastern region of the country under the Border Area Development program, Home Minister during his recent visit to areas said, where he also raised concerns over the non-exploitation of the free movement regime between India and Myanmar. It is a priority of the government to fast track development work in the North-East. The Union government is committed to getting the work finished at the earliest as work on the road and rail network is going on and greater connectivity within the North-East and with its neighbors which will give impetus to enhanced movement of goods, services, and people across the border.
