Central Secretariat to Become Triple-Interchange Metro Hub Under Delhi Metro Phase V(A)

Metro-Connectivity-Projects
The Central Secretariat Metro Station will be upgraded into a triple-interchange hub under Delhi Metro’s Phase V(A), connecting the Yellow, Violet and Magenta lines, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The new Magenta Line connection will be part of the proposed Ramakrishna Ashram Marg–Indraprastha corridor, significantly improving connectivity to central Delhi and key government districts, including the Central Vista area. Currently, Central Secretariat serves as an interchange between the Yellow and Violet lines.

Once expanded, the station will offer direct access to all Kartavya Bhawans. DMRC estimates that around 60,000 officegoers and nearly two lakh visitors will use the station daily, a move expected to reduce dependence on private vehicles and cut fossil fuel consumption.
